At least one in every ten people who live around here is looking for a job because they don’t have one. I am sure that another 1 in every ten is looking because they are miserable in their current job and desperately need a need work environment or bigger paycheck.

Those are some scary numbers to have hanging over our heads. I sure Obama gets busy and find a way to turn this economy around to the way it was 6 years ago.

I’ve had great fun poking around YouTube and watching dozens of videos. I happened to notice that there is a contest underway for kids who want to promote a worthy cause by filming a video about their favorite issue(s). This is only for kids to enter, but there are some very talented kids out there. I can’t wait to see what they come up with, and see which ones win.

I also managed to “accidentally” spill a plate of gravy down the front of a biotch who was giving me a hard time while waiting tables, years ago. Oops! treat your wait staff right, people! I have been known to dabble a bit

Since the stock market is so crazy lately, a lot of people have shied away from investing in the stock market. Well I have been known to dabble a bit in the stock market but now I do my dabbling through online trading. They guy that used to handle all of my investing in stocks went out of business because of the deep drop in the stock market and the Bernie Madoff mess.

You can find an online broker that works better with you than a lot of other brokers I have known. If you know anything at all about stock trading, then check into it online and you might be better satisfied with your outcome. This online brokerage will allow you to trade stocks, options, and even Mutual Funds at competitive costs to you. Not too bad huh?

You know how I love to shop

Shopping online has become one of my new hobbies. I didn’t realize how much money I could save by shopping online. Stop and think about it, you save on time, you save gas and you don’t have to deal with all of the crowds. One thing I love is finding discount coupons. Did you know that you can get Hotels.com discount coupons? Well you can.

Another thing I didn’t expect to find discount coupons on was Best Buy discount coupons but there they were, big as day. It you add in the discounts, the gas and everything else you save, you can afford to go somewhere like to visit your sister.

Now why can’t I find one like this?

Just a bit of redecorating to do

I think my bathroom needs something. With that in mind, I have just a bit of redecorating to do. In all honesty, about all it really needs is a new shower curtain. I found some perfect shower curtains online. Now I just have to figure out which one I want.

I love shopping at SHOP.COM because just about anything you’re looking for can be found there. I have it marked as one of my favorites so when I’m in the mood for a little shopping, that’s where I like to start. It’s a huge help and really saves you a lot of time because they have already done the looking for you. Know what I mean?

Well it’s about time for those cute little ones to come knocking on your door in their costumes saying “Trick or Treat” when you answer the door, just hoping for a piece or two……..more like a hand full………..of candy. What I love more than that is dressing up too and scaring the pants off of those little darlins when they ring the door bell!!!

Maxine on – Retirement as a Wal-Mart Greeter

Unfortunately, as I have gotten older, I have become a little less sensitive. So, after trying my new job as a Wal-Mart greeter, last weekend (a good find for many retirees), I lasted less than a day……

About two hours into my first day on the job a very loud, coyote ugly, nasty woman walked into the store with her two kids, yelling obscenities at them all the way through the entrance.

As I had been instructed, I said pleasantly, ‘Good morning, and welcome to Wal-Mart. Nice children you have there. Are they twins?’

The ugly, nasty woman stopped yelling long enough to say, ‘Hell no, they ain’t twins. The oldest one’s 9, and the other one’s 7. Why the hell would you think they’re twins? Are you blind, or just stupid?’

So I replied, ‘I’m neither blind nor stupid, Ma’am. I just find it hard to believe you got laid twice.

Have a good day and thank you for shopping at Wal-Mart.’

My 25 year old supervisor said I probably wasn’t cut out for this line of work…….. soooo maybe I’ll go fishing.
