I was just checking out the news and ran across an article on MSNBC.  It seems there’s an 80 year old stripper still dancing in Las Vegas.  She does it with class as she puts it.  I don’t know if any of you remember Gypsy Rose Lee but she was the greatest stripper ever and never even really showed anything on stage.  That’s part of pleasing an audience, making them use their imagination.  Tempest Storm is this ladies stage name and she is one more class act.  If you want to read more about her, you can go to http://www.msnbc.msn.com/id/25640691/>1=43001 and some of you young ladies that think there’s no need to leave anything to the guys imagination just might learn a thing or two.  You also don’t have to be a 20 year old to be sexy either.  You go girl!!!!!!!

I was just heart sick when I heard that Dr. Anna Pou had been charged with manslaughter.  This woman went above and beyond to keep her patients safe and to continue to care for them as did every single employee at the hospital.  They had to work under horrendous conditions and did what they could and had to do for these poor patients only to be accused of terrible wrong doing.

So where is the blame for the government officials that allowed these patients to remain in the hospital in the first place.  Our government mishandled most everything with Katrina.  Yet we are ready, willing, and able to send help to other countries that suffer from terrible tragedies similar to that of Katrina?  What is wrong with this picture?  We are still too busy trying to take care of the world at our own peoples expense.

You can read more about this at http://news.yahoo.com/s/ap/20080721/ap_on_re_us/katrina_hospital_deaths and I hope that you will because the nightmare is not over for many of us still.

Myanmar

July 21, 2008

Myanmar was hit by a horrific cyclone named Nargis, which is the equivalent to our hurricanes.  The loss of life was staggering.  An estimated 84,530 people died and there are over 53,856 still missing.  This is a poor country anyway and then something like this happens and the resources are not there to help these poor victims.  According to the United Nations, it will cost approximately a billion US dollars over the next three years for aide and to rebuild Myanmar.

We thought it was bad here when Katrina and Rita hit, well at least we did have someone come to help even if it wasn’t as fast as we thought it should.  These poor people have very little to begin with and very little that is available to help them.  I’m sure the world will rally around to help.  My heart goes out to them as I know in a very small way the devastation they feel.  God bless them.

Recycling

July 18, 2008

I told you I was big on recycling.  I was on the computer last night and found ‘The ultimate recycling guide’ on green.msn.com.  I found the whole article very interesting and enlightening.  People know all about recycling plastic, glass, and paper but there are far more recyclable items than I even realized.  I told you about recycling old cell phones, remember?  Well you should also recycle most any type of electronics including your TV’s because these items contain lead and mercury.  It is a great article and certainly opened my eyes.  Maybe you would find it interesting too.  Heck, you might even learn something too.

Brad and Angelina

July 15, 2008

Well Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie have welcomed their twins into this world.  They have a new boy and girl to add to their family.  I don’t know if you are aware of how much Brad Pitt has done to help New Orleans but he has.  I’m just not real big on the fact that there has been offered a very large sum of money for the first photos of these babies.  Most parents have to pay for their babies first pictures and pay dearly at a time when money is probably rather tight but they will receive millions for pictures of the babies.  I just hope that money goes to something good and not just into their pockets.  It’s not like they need the money anyway.  I just feel that there is so much good that could be done in their children’s names if they wanted it to be so.
