Well the apartments are all but finished and they’ll be moving in this weekend.  There’s still a bit to do on the three bedroom apartment but the others are finished.  Everyone is so excited about making the move.  I am too because I know that everyone will now have a good place to live and their kids will be looked after too.

I look at most of my employees as my family like I have told you before so it’s only natural that I would want them to have a good place to live then.  Now they have just that.  I know they appreciate it too because the smiles on thier faces show just how much it is appreciated.  Besides, if it doesn’t work out for one of them, I do have it to rent to others but I’m sure they’ll all be happy right here.  I hope so anyway.

I just found out that another of my friends is moving to Houston.  Her husband is an electrician and they are moving to Texas to help rebuild Galveston.  That’s awfully good of them but I sure am going to miss her.  They’re having a new home built for them too.  Since she saw the home that Schumacher Homes built for our other friend, she’s having them build one for her.  They do build some beautiful homes, that’s for sure and if I was going to build a new home, that’s who I would get to build mine too.

Well this year has been about the best Mardi Gras we have had in a long time.  It was wonderful seeing all of the people coming back to New Orleans.  I guess people are finally ready to start coming back like they used to.  I can’t say as I blame them for staying away like they did.  Heck we lost a lot of locals with the mess we went through but the celebration is back.

Just look at all of the wonderful people with their smiling faces enjoying Mardi Gras like they used to.  I must say it has brought a smile to my heart to see them come back again.

My best friend of 40 years just came to tell me that she’s moving to Baton Rouge.  One good thing is she and her husband are buying from Schumacher Homes Louisiana. They have some of the most beautiful homes you have ever seen.  She said that this time when they have the home of their dreams built, it will still be standing if another storm comes through.

They have several floor plans you can choose from and several designs too.  In fact, they build homes most everywhere in the United States.  I can’t wait to go visit her in her new home either.

Some of my friends want to throw me a birthday party to celebrate my……………..well my birthday.  A southern lady never tells her age.  I’ll just say I have been around the block a couple of times and seen the top of the hill.  How’s that?

Anyway, they were wanting to do a theme type birthday party.  You know how much we love throwing theme parties in New Orleans so it shouldn’t be a surprise that they want a theme birthday party for me.  I love the 60′s and should have been a flower child but we won’t talk anymore about that.  That’s what would make the perfect theme for a birthday party for me.

The girls could all dress in long dresses with flowers in their hair and the guys wear old torn jeans with army jackets and those great loose fitting shirts they used to wear back then.  The music, well it has to be the psychedelic music from then like the Iron Butterfly and Cream………….all those great songs, Jefferson Airplanes ‘White Rabbit’.  But NO DRUGS!!!!!!!!!
