Mask

March 31, 2009

Do you remember the movie ‘Mask?’  It is one of my favorite movies and I haven’t seen it in years.  Well it was just on the other night and I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed watching it again even though I have seen it more times than I can remember.  I have been a huge fan of Cher for years but my favorite actor is also in it.

Sam Elliott is the one man that just floats my boat and all he would have to do is talk to me and I would be in heaven.  Oh he has to at least have that mustache or I can’t watch a movie he’s in.  Sam with facial hair and that voice, oh honey, that’s a MAN!!!  I first saw him in the movie ‘Lifeguard’ and instantly fell in love.  If you’ve never seen either of these movies, please do!!!  Especially if you’re a Sam Elliott fan, they are both well worth it!

One of the guys that works for me is into this World of Warcraft game.  It must be a really popular game because he talks about it with all kinds of different people.  I overheard him telling someone about getting a wow game time code and how excited he was about it because it saved him money.

See what I just got

March 30, 2009

When I’m off work and relaxing at home, the last thing I want is to be stuck inside or most of all, stuck at my computer desk.  I like moving about.  I like writing my blog and what ever else I need to be doing on my computer but I need a change of scenery from time to time too.  I guess I just can’t sit still that long.

Well I found the perfect solution.  It’s one of those Netbooks, you know, a mini-laptop.  It’s the perfect thing for me to take out in my garden and sit on my swing enjoying the day while I’m still able to do what needs to be done on the computer.  Check this out and you might want one too!!

The “HE” that appears in the Asus Eee PC 1000HE model name might stand for “Holy Enhancement!” This model, which bears only a passing resemblance to last year’s Eee PC 1000, improves on everything from the keyboard to the CPU. And besides losing some unsightly girth, the 1000HE has a svelte new price of just $400.

The Asus Eee PC 1000HE runs on Intel’s 1.66GHz Atom N280 CPU. Most netbooks that appeared late last year used the Atom N270 CPU, which runs at a lower frequency (1.6GHz) and has a slower front-side bus speed (533MHz instead of the N280′s 667MHz). The effect of those differences, however, was minimal. Our test unit earned a mark of 35 in WorldBench 6, an average score for a netbook.

This netbook is one of my current favorites. Considering that it sells for as little as $380, it is well worth checking out.

I’m pretty sure I told you about all of my friends moving away.  Well most of them anyway.  Didn’t I tell you that one was moving to Houston?  Well you should see what they had built through Schumacher Homes. I don’t know why I didn’t take pictures so I could show you. It is absolutely beautiful.

Schumacher Homes will build a home like you have only dreamed of before now anywhere you want.  Well most anywhere that is.  Of course it has to be on your own land and be zoned for housing and all of that but one things for sure, you won’t be disappointed with their homes they build.

Though Dr. Rogers said it in 1984, his words are so relevant to what we are facing in America today. In fact, it was even read and posted in the Congressional Record by Congressman Steve King from the state of Iowa on January 14, 2009.
Dr. Rogers is quoted:

“Friend, you cannot legislate the poor into freedom by legislating the wealthy out of freedom. And what one person receives without working for, another person must work for without receiving. The government can’t give to anybody anything that the government does not first take from somebody. And when half of the people get the idea they don’t have to work because the other half’s going to take care of them, and when the other half get the idea it does no good to work because somebody’s going to get what I work for. That, dear friend, is about the end of any nation.”
